How to Order

These were designed as a simple yet dramatic side chair that would use figured wood to its best advantage. The seat, made from strips of quartered maple, bristles with fiery curl.

The seat is coopered -- like barrel staves. The chair frame is mortise and tenoned throughout. There is a thin spline of purpleheart joining the two seat halves.

The figured maple is selected from very high quality stock -- in fact, from stringed instrument stock (think "fiddleback" maple).

The satin-sheen finish is hand sanded and waxed.
