The top of this table is made from a single slab of Old Growth Fir as are the legs on each end. The edges of the top are “live”, which means that they follow the natural contour of the log. They have been sanded and made smooth and are pleasing to the touch.

Tables of this caliber are very unique and will become “collector’s items” in that large slabs of wood are increasingly difficult to find and are becoming more and more rare. This artist combs the Pacific Northwest and Alaska looking for old growth standing dead or downed trees. He doesn’t cut anything live as most of the available live timber is second or third growth.
