Simplicity of design, graceful beauty and efficiency all come to mind when you see and touch our contemporary Japan Chest. While this chest provides storage for blankets or prized possessions, it can be a bench seat or coffee table as well! This could also serve as an excellent hope chest for a young lady.

Made with burned-in accent marks on the top edge and sides of the legs, the chest’s lid is hinged on the back for easy lifting. The piece is joined with wood fasteners for a lifetime of use.

This piece is available in maple (shown here) and cherry. (If you order the maple, be sure to ask if ambrosia maple or figured maple is available. Ambrosia maple has streaks and patchwork, caused by the the Ambrosia Beetle. Figured maple has a curly pattern and is very dramatic.) The finish is natural with a clear-coat matte sheen. We do not advise staining this piece, but if staining is desired, please feel free to discuss this customization when you call.
